Illustrated Guide Version 11.3 Now Uploaded!
We’ve finished the latest version of the NYC ABC “Illustrated Guide to Political Prisoners and Prisoners of War” and it’s available for viewing (and download) by clicking on the tab at the top of this page. This update includes updated mini-bios, photos, and address changes for several prisoners as well as removes Jason Hammond (released!), Rebecca Rubin (halfway house!), and Abdullah Majid (deceased, rest in power).
NYC ABC Fund Raiser For Jason Hammond
We just found a handful of the Tinley Park Five t-shirts NYC ABC designed and printed as a fund raiser for those five antifa comrades. There are very few t-shirts left and we find it fitting to use them to support another comrade arrested and imprisoned as part of the Tinley Park action. Supporting antifascists sends the message that white nationalists, neo-Nazis, and other white supremacists won’t be allowed to organize without facing opposition. By supporting Jason, you are not simply buying a t-shirt, you are placing yourself in a community of individuals committed to upending organized white supremacy. So even if there is not a shirt in your size, you can still make a donation and have the t-shirt as a reminder of Jason, the Tinley Park Five, and all the unnamed folks willing to risk their freedom to stand against fascism. We did it, NYC! We survived the storm of the century a regular winter snow storm. NYC ABC is not known for backing away from supporting our imprisoned comrades, regardless of weather or other reasons, and this week will be no different. We are focusing this week’s letter-writing dinner on recently imprisoned anti-fascist Jason Hammond.
Jason Hammond pleaded guilty, while refusing to provide information on others, to state charges against him for participation in an organized direct action taken against a group of white supremacists in May 2012 in Tinley Park, Illinois. Unfortunately, this version also includes the addition of Eric King, an anarchist awaiting trial for alleged politically motivated property destruction in Kansas City.

This update includes address changes for a few prisoners as well as removing Dylan Sutherlin (TIME SERVED!). Unfortunately, this version also includes the addition of two new folks– Luke O’Donovan, a queer, anarchist radical self defense prisoner, and George Horton, a 2010 Toronto G20 protest prisoner who was out of prison pending an appeal that was denied.
New Campaign: Welcome Home Jason Sutherlin (Tinley Park Five)
Jason Sutherlin of the Tinley Park 5 is due to be released from prison in September. So Bloomington ABC, Denver ABC, NYC ABC, and Sacramento Prisoner Support have launched a campaign to start a release fund for Jason.

“In May 2012, five antifascists were arrested and, in early 2013, took non-cooperating plea deals for 3 felonies each for taking part in emphatically stopping a meeting of white supremacists organizing under the guise of the Illinois European Heritage Association at a restaurant in Tinley Park, Illinois. Jason Sutherlin is the LAST of the five to be released, rejoining us in September. Bloomington ABC, NYC ABC, Denver ABC, and Sacramento Prisoner Support have launched a campaign to start a release fund for Jason. By the time Jason is released he’ll have been locked up for almost 2.5 years, will have a felony record, and certain things just won’t be the same. Let’s help him make a smooth transition! Let’s raise some money and secure a release fund that will welcome him upon his release. Your donations will help Jason pay costs of living and support his family while he gets back on his feet.”
Please remember that prisoner support doesn’t end when a comrade is released. Through halfway houses, supervised release, parole, or probation, there is usually state supervision beyond the initial sentence. Also, prison is traumatic. And of course there is the stigma of being a former prisoner that effects nearly every aspect of one’s life. All of this adds up to the less obvious, but equally necessary, support needed when our loved ones come home. Donate to your ability and show an anti-fascist comrade how we welcome folks home.

When it comes to thanks, I don’t know where to begin. Do I mention certain individuals or organizations? Do I start with the cards and letters full of love and support? How about the amount of donations that came in for the book drive back at Robinson’s library? Or, do I lead off with all of the fundraising that kept money in the commissary and continues to pour in for help post-release? I should probably lead off with the lovely lady in my life that has sacrificed and endured so much for me and our relationship the last couple of years. Maybe it should be the amazing legal team that stepped up and have continued to help to this day. I can’t forget my new friend that has opened his home and heart to me in my greatest time of need. I must mention all of the people that used to flood the courtroom in solidarity every time they would walk us in there. With so many wonderful people, faces old and new, doing so many amazing things, it’s impossible for my thanks to have a beginning or an end. The thanks that I have for all of you is so deep and infinite that it can’t be measured or explained. Any act of kindness, no matter how big or small, has meant the world to me, as well as the other four. Thankfully, we’re down to just two, and in a few weeks it’ll just be one. Let’s show my brothers our love, support, and appreciation for them. Thank every last one of you for all you’ve done and continue to do!

A letter from Cody Lee Sutherlin
With the fundraising campaign initiated by Bloomington ABC, Sacramento Prisoner Support, and NYC ABC a recently-completed success, we want to make sure folks see what your support for political prisoners like Cody Lee Sutherlin means. We’ve been lucky enough to work with Cody Lee on projects that he organized while inside, including a book drive that generated about 300 books for the prison library. Since the support we’ve been able to give Cody Lee is via organizing with folks like you, this letter is as much to you as to our collective.

What’s up Brooklyn?!
I am ecstatic to say that one month from today I will be a free man! I want to thank y’all for the amazing support you’ve shown throughout this ordeal. Words can not express how much it means to me. At this point, I am just waiting on my interstate compact to be approved so that I can parole back home to Indiana. Aside from that, I’m finishing up my last module of school, saving what money I have left on my books, lining it up job opportunities back home, and finding potential back up parole sites here in Illinois. The weather has been amazing the last few days and definitely has helped to keep my spirits lifted. On a side note, the book drive has gone pretty well and by my estimates, we have collected roughly 300 books for the inmates and library here! Thank you for your help. Not long from now I’ll be done with this legal shit and be able to head east so you all could show me a good time out there in NY. Thank you again for all your love and support over the last couple of years.
