With the recent rise in attacks on LGBTQ folks in NYC, Pride could not of come sooner. This week we will be writing to two women, CeCe McDonald & Patreese Johnson, who were attacked by hateful transphobes and homophobes, only to be punished for defending themselves.

New Jersey 4 prisoner Patreese Johnson transferred

New Jersey 4 self-defense prisoner Patreese Johnson was recently transferred. She also recently had a birthday. While this puts her about half an hour farther away, she was transferred to a minimum security prison. Please help her settle in to her new place by writing a letter or belated birthday card.

The NYC Anarchist Black Cross collective is back at it, serving up amazing food and knowledge about our folks behind bars. In light of March being women’s history month, this is the first letter-writing dinner this month where we’ll be focusing on a few of our female comrades behind bars. We’ll provide brief background and recent updates on Leah Henderson, Mandy Hiscocks, Patreese Johnson, CeCe McDonald, and Rev. Joy Powell. All you need to bring is an appetite, but friends and partners are welcome.
