Illustrated Guide Version 12 Uploaded!

We’ve finished the latest version of the NYC ABCIllustrated Guide to Political Prisoners and Prisoners of War” and it’s available for viewing (and download) by clicking on the tab at the top of this page. This update includes updated mini-bios, photos, and address changes for several prisoners as well as removes Justin Solondz (halfway house!). Unfortunately, it also includes the addition of recently-imprisoned animal liberation comrade Nicole Kissane and the removal of Christopher Monfort (deceased, REST IN POWER!).

BK/NY – Tuesday, October 25th – Come to a Green Scare(y) Halloween Card-Writing

WHAT: Political Prisoner Letter-Writing Dinner
WHEN: 7pm sharp, Tuesday, October 25th, 2016
WHERE: The Base1302 Myrtle Avenue Brooklyn, New York 11221 (directions below)

NOTE: The Base is on the ground floor, is wheelchair accessible, and has a gender neutral toilet.
COST: Free

Free Them All!It is 2016 and the US government’s war on environmental activists and animal liberationists is still being waged. NYC ABC and Sacramento Prisoner Support have responded with project FANG, a travel fund for earth and animal liberation prisoners.

With Tyler Lang and Kevin Olliff recently moved to halfway houses, the imprisonment of Joseph Buddenberg, and the impending trial of Nicole Kissane, we are reminded of the backwards and arbitrary logic the State uses to deem who are “terrorists.” The truth is, those in power will always villainize those who seek to liberate and valorize those who seek to carry out real destruction.

In light of the coming holiday, we are sending Halloween cards to targets of the Green Scare as part of our every-other-week political prisoner letter-writing dinners.

Since the early 1980s, public relations hacks have been working to reify the term “eco-terrorism.” By 2004, they became successful and a phrase that a decade earlier had no real meaning was now defined by the United States government and used to introduce legislation. In the face of global ecologic destruction and animal torture, those who try to end the suffering are the ones labeled terrorists. Join us in letting the ones who have ultimately been captured know that they have not been forgotten. Read more…

file in the birthday cakeIt’s no secret that winter is the baby-making season and that leaves October as the month with the most birthdays. As we know, our imprisoned comrades are folks coming from the same movements as us, not some rare breed of super-human. As a result a disproportionate number of them also share October births. In fact, there are so many upcoming political prisoner birthdays that NYC ABC is focusing our entire upcoming political prisoner letter-writing dinner on sending cards to them. So come join us for some good food and sign a whole grip of cards. We’ll see you for supper.

WHEN: 7pm sharp, Tuesday, October 28th, 2014
WHERE: CAGE – 83A Hester Street (UPSTAIRS) New York, New York 10002 (directions below)

Free Them All!Well, here we are, saddened. Another space in NYC is closing. We’ve been fortunate to call CAGE home to our every-other-week Political Prisoner Letter-Writing Dinners for over two years. So we thank them for providing us space to support political prisoners and hope they find a new home soon.

In light of the coming holiday, we are sending Halloween cards to targets of the Green Scare.

Since the early 1980s, public relations hacks have been working to reify the term “eco-terrorism.” By 2004, they became successful and a phrase that a decade earlier had no real meaning was now defined by the United States government and used to introduce legislation. Now we have comrades serving decades for economic sabotage and allegations of thought crime. With several recent animal liberation actions, and Tyler Lang & Kevin Olliff being tried as terrorists, it is clear that Earth and animal liberationists are both still active and still in the cross-hairs of the feds. Join us in letting them know they are not forgotten.

NYC – Tuesday, October 29th – Come to a Green Scare(y) Halloween Card-Writing + Letter-Writing For Move Marie

WHAT: Political Prisoner Letter-Writing Dinner
WHEN: 7pm sharp, Tuesday, October 29th, 2013
WHERE: CAGE83A Hester Street (UPSTAIRS) New York, New York 10002 (directions below)
COST: Free

Free Them All!With grand jury resistance here in NYC, Feds sneaking around in Southern California, and other campaigns & projects across the country, anarchists have their hands full. The work that’s happening on these projects is, in many ways, inspiring. With that inspiration, there are plenty of reasons to become directly involved. It is in the spirit of direct involvement (and the magick of Halloween) that we host another Political Prisoner Letter-Writing Dinner. And what could be more ghoulish than the Green Scare?

Join us in letting them know they are not forgotten.

We are also taking this letter-writing night to answer the call to organize an event to get letters on behalf of Marie Mason, in an effort to get her moved from the isolation unit in FMC Carswell, where she is currently imprisoned. For more information on the campaign, visit movemarie.com

BK/NY – Tuesday, April 10th – Letter-Writing for Eric Desouza and Justin Solondz

WHAT: Political Prisoner Letter-Writing Dinner
WHEN: 7pm sharp, Tuesday, April 10th, 2012
WHERE: 885 Park Avenue, Brooklyn, New York (see below for directions)
COST: Free

We are in what folks from many walks of life call crunch time. There are only a few weeks until the May First General Strike is upon us. In the meantime, we have an anarchist book fair, a nationwide tour in support of long term anarchist political prisoners, and we’re ending the first week of Freedom Month for Puerto Rican political prisoners. With all that going on, don’t forget to leave time for dinner. NYC ABC is back this week with another every-other-week political prisoner letter-writing dinner, this time focusing on two recently imprisoned comrades– Operation Backfire prisoner Justin Solondz and anti-fascist Eric Desouza.

Justin Solondz recently plead guilty to conspiracy and arson in relation to an action claimed by the Earth Liberation Front. The action at University of Washington’s Center for Urban Horticulture in 2001 caused six million dollars in damages. Justin is currently serving a seven year federal prison sentence.

Eric Desouza was arrested at a demonstration against neo-Nazis in Sacramento, California in late February 2012. He was originally facing six charges and had bail posted at $100,000. He eventually plead guilty to felonious resisting executive orders which allowed for a considerably shorter sentence.

If you are unable to make it to dinner, please write letters to Justin and Eric:
