Illustrated Guide Version 11.3 Now Uploaded!
We’ve finished the latest version of the NYC ABC “Illustrated Guide to Political Prisoners and Prisoners of War” and it’s available for viewing (and download) by clicking on the tab at the top of this page. This update includes updated mini-bios, photos, and address changes for several prisoners as well as removes Jason Hammond (released!), Rebecca Rubin (halfway house!), and Abdullah Majid (deceased, rest in power).
NYC/NYE – Noise Demo Against the Prison Industrial Complex, In Solidarity with PPs and POWs

On the noisiest night of the year in New York City, come help us remind folks locked up that they are not alone. NYC Anarchist Black Cross, in response to an international call for noise demonstrations outside of prisons, is asking folks to join us outside of the Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC) in lower Manhattan. Come, not to appeal to authority, speak truth to power, or any other contrivance, but rather to stand arm in arm with comrades and show direct solidarity to those on the other side of the wall.
The state, writ large, is targeting anarchists all across the United States and abroad. This will be both protest and celebration. To keep the cold at bay, comrades will again be on hand with hot cocoa to keep the vocal cords nice and warm.
NYC ABC Fund Raiser For Jason Hammond
We just found a handful of the Tinley Park Five t-shirts NYC ABC designed and printed as a fund raiser for those five antifa comrades. There are very few t-shirts left and we find it fitting to use them to support another comrade arrested and imprisoned as part of the Tinley Park action. Supporting antifascists sends the message that white nationalists, neo-Nazis, and other white supremacists won’t be allowed to organize without facing opposition. By supporting Jason, you are not simply buying a t-shirt, you are placing yourself in a community of individuals committed to upending organized white supremacy. So even if there is not a shirt in your size, you can still make a donation and have the t-shirt as a reminder of Jason, the Tinley Park Five, and all the unnamed folks willing to risk their freedom to stand against fascism. Hang it on a wall, give it as a gift, cut it up and make it a patch, banner, or flag.

Jason is currently serving a sentence of nearly three and a half years in an Illinois state prison.

We did it, NYC! We survived the storm of the century a regular winter snow storm. NYC ABC is not known for backing away from supporting our imprisoned comrades, regardless of weather or other reasons, and this week will be no different. Unfortunately, this version also includes the addition of two new folks– Tyler Lang and Kevin Olliff, recently arrested in Illinois for “possession of burglary tools.”

With Running Down the Walls 2013 under a month away, we in NYC ABC have our hands full. But before we move forward, we give a strong Black August salute to our imprisoned Black liberation comrades. And while the state’s types of repression may have become more refined and better concealed over the decades, they still exist and are still heavily used. NYC ABC responds to the repression of comrades with unflinching support, most commonly with our every-other-week political prisoner letter-writing dinners. This week we are writing to Jason Hammond, the recently-jailed brother of alleged Anonymous and LulzSec hacker Jeremy Hammond.
On July 11th, Jason Hammond was arrested and charged with armed violence, aggravated battery and mob action. The arrest was made in connection with Hammond’s alleged role in the Tinley Park Five case. Over a year ago, in May, around 20 anti-fascists attacked a meeting of known white supremacists at a restaurant in Tinley Park, Illinois. Jason is charged with participating in the action against white supremacists and neo-Nazis attending the “5th annual White Nationalist Economic Summit and White Nationalist Meet-and-Greet.” Not a particularly catchy name, but then again, look who you’re dealing with.
As of now, Jason Hammond’s bail is set at $100,000 with no bond. That means in order to be released before his trial, his supporters have to come up with the entire $100,000.
To many folks close to Jason–- family, friends, close comrades, the timing of the arrest is simply too coincidental as his brother, Jeremy, is facing sentencing in mid-November. Jason has been steadfast and tireless in supporting his brother.
