As we proceed to give you what you need…2012, the year of the black dragon, continues to show revolutionary potential, with folks in the streets from coast to coast feeling collective power and losing their fear of the cops. And as rebellion resonates around the world, we offer love, respect, and solidarity to those recently arrested and those who have been down for years. One practical way this solidarity have been manifested for nearly five years is through our every-other-week political prisoner letter-writing dinners. This week we are writing to two long-term anti-imperialist warriors, serving decades for their commitment to ending the global system of white supremacy.
Jaan Laaman and Tom Manning are anti-imperialist revolutionaries who were active in the United Freedom Front, a clandestine anti-imperialist organization. The UFF carried out targeted bombings of corporate buildings, courthouses and military facilities as well as bank robberies to fund revolutionary projects. Both men were deeply involved in anti South African apartheid organizing. Jaan is currently serving a 53 year sentence, while Tom was sentenced to 80 years.
If for some insane reason you can’t make it out, but still want to support the prisoners, you can write to them at:
