Tues (July 6th) – Letter-Writing for Lefty Gilday
What: Political Prisoner Letter-Writing Dinner
When: 7pm sharp, Tuesday, July 6th
Where: 885 Park Avenue, Brooklyn, New York (see below for directions)
After an extended weekend of celebrating the independence of the U.S. empire, what could you possibly do to wash that gross taste from your mouth? Funny you should ask, since this Tuesday the NYC Anarchist Black Cross just happens to be serving up some amazing food (and knowledge). For years now, NYC ABC has been hosting every other week, Political Prisoner Letter Writing Dinners. This week will be no different. Though shorthanded, with our collective members either spread out across the country or in prison, we plan on seeing you on Tuesday, July 6th, for an outstanding night of camaraderie, food, and support for folks caught behind enemy lines.
This week we’re focusing on Lefty Gilday.
All you need to bring is an appetite, but friends are welcome.
A NOTE ON THE LOCATION: With the eviction of the 1-2-3 community space, the NYC Anarchist Black Cross collective has gone mobile. This week, we are back in Bed-Stuy. Make sure you follow us on twitter or write to nycabc[at] riseup[dot]net to get on our mailing list so you don’t miss a single night.
If you can’t make it out, please take the time to write to Lefty:

The deal, as always, is that you come bringing only yourself (and your friends and comrades), and we provide you with a delicious vegan meal, information about a political prisoner or group of prisoners as well as all of the letter-writing materials and prisoner-letter-writing info you could ever want to use in one evening. In return, you write a thoughtful letter to a political prisoner or prisoner of war of your choosing or, better yet, keep up a long-term correspondence.
Getting to 885 Park Avenue is simple:
From the J/M/Z:
Flushing Stop: Walk southeast on Broadway (toward Sumner Place, away from Thornton Street) and make a right on Park Avenue. We’re halfway down the block, on your right.

If you have any questions, feel free to get in touch. Otherwise, we’ll see you at supper.
Brought to you by NYC Anarchist Black Cross (ABCF-NYC).
