Tues (Apr 27th) – Letter-Writing Dinner in Brooklyn!
What: Political Prisoner Letter-Writing Dinner
When: 7pm sharp, Tuesday, April 27th
Where: 885 Park Avenue, Brooklyn, New York (see below for directions)
The NYC Anarchist Black Cross collective is back at it, serving up amazing food and knowledge about our folks behind bars. In light of April being ProLibertad‘s annual Freedom Month, we’ll be focusing on our Puerto Rican comrades behind bars. We’ll provide brief background and recent updates on Carlos Alberto Torres, Oscar Lopez Rivera and Avelino Gonzalez Claudio. All you need to bring is an appetite, but friends and partners are welcome.
A NOTE ON THE LOCATION: With the eviction of the 1-2-3 community space, the NYC Anarchist Black Cross collective has gone mobile. Until 1-2-3 finds a new home, we are alternating our letter writing nights between the South Bronx and Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. This week, we are back in BK. Make sure you follow us on twitter or write to nycabc at riseup dot net to get on our mailing list so you don’t miss a single night.
If you can’t make it to the event this time around, please take the time to check out:
ProLibertad’s support site.
If you simply can’t make it to dinner, please write to them at:

The deal, as always, is that you come bringing only yourself (and your friends and comrades), and we provide you with a delicious vegan meal, information about a political prisoner or group of prisoners as well as all of the letter-writing materials and prisoner-letter-writing info you could ever want to use in one evening. In return, you write a thoughtful letter to a political prisoner or prisoner of war of your choosing or, better yet, keep up a long-term correspondence.
Getting to 885 Park Avenue is simple:
